I was given a magnum as a birthday present many years ago. Finally decided to open it tonight because I was afraid I had left it too long. But no, it was a delightful medium to full bodied Barolo with lots of subtlety and finesse. I have a temperature controlled wine cellar, which I am sure has helped the long life of this wine. Still a good colour, hardly any brick colouring. Gentle, pleasant nose. Very smooth, tannins well back, hints of tar, spices, and a long finish. Opened only an hour before we ate, it evolved during the meal, becoming bigger. Lucky me, I say.

Had higher expectations. We drank a magnum. Evolved a bit over the night and next day. Paired with our Thanksgiving meal ... was fun to drink but was not amazing

1995 Barolo with Usual Suspects: Lovely, well made, not Barolo. Same notes as the A. Conterno Granbussia but less weight and depth. Consistent with every Sandrone I've ever had. Great winemaker. Belongs in a factory.

Brilliant light ruby red. Fragrant pinot noir like nose. Very light, perfumed, great inner mouth energy. Pretty pretty wine. The group guessed just about every wine region in the world for this after finding out it wasn't a Burgundy. There was no tar.
