Samples from Bill #7: Single blind. Lemon with apple, pear, smoky toast and white florals on the nose. Very composed on the palate, textured and with depth and length. Excellent acidity, giving the fruit great verve and lift. Really delicious wine and should age well also.

Wow. Burgundian, Charlemagne meets meaursault. Heaps of minerality, flint and match stick in both nose and on the palate. Then lemon, peach, tropical fruits, wood, fudge, butter and some sweet licorice. High and lovely acidity, and a never-ending taste. Incredibly tasty and one where it's very hard to pace yourself.

Festival of Phil (Phil's place, Putney, Sydney): Aromas of bacon fat, serious oak, a little stone fruit peeks out after a fair amount of time. Juicy, fleshy, tangy, textured burr, stone fruit with slight citrus underpin. Travels long but this is full on vinfanticide.
