Incredibly beautiful and balanced! If modern CdP drank like this, I would like the region much more. For my taste, this is at its peak, but it has the acidity and structure to keep going.

Double decanted 3h so this was probably the most expressive of all the bottles I’ve written about before. The underlying quality is still the same. Some called Burgundy.

Enjoyed double blind... This was evident to the table as a great grenache-dominated wine with some darker tones and with plenty of maturity (FWIW, I initially guessed the 2001 Pegau, but this wasn't funky enough to try check that box). Beautifully textured and layered, a CdP in a style I (still) love. Certainly at its apogee, but showing now signs of fading.

Still enjoyable with stewed fruit and earthy notes, medium-short finish.

Undrinkable. Over the hill. Just all prunes.
