Pleasant nose, dark rich colour. Plenty of rich fruit, some savoury rhone-style elements. Balanced oak, still somewhat rough tannins. Glorious warm length on the finish. I’m getting more of these but will keep them for 4-5 years longer. Drinks well now but I can’t see how more bottle age will not improve it. I will target ten year anniversary for my next bottle.

Rich and potent nose with blackberry and vanilla notes. Soft approach builds into intense blackcurrant and vanilla palette with a touch of sweetness. Toasty oak on the finish. This has a smooth mouthfeel and soft tannins with nice tension.

Very clean and elegant nose of spicy blueberries, leather, eucalyptus and just a touch of vanilla pod at the end. Rich and balanced palate, very much reflecting the notes from the nose. At this young age, it is already ready to drink given its open and rounded structure. It is not the style of the Barossa Valley, more towards the Clare Valley Shiraz. It is uniquely Margaret Shiraz even though Cabernet is the king there. I recommend you age this for another 3 years for even better transitions and integration of the ripe tannins.
Retasted in July 2022. Nose is very soft and full of ripe raspberries. Spices are at the background at this point in time. Palate has not changed, rounded, fruity with hints of spices. Nice transition from the mid-palate to finish. No change in score.
