Special experience shared with Scott and Mike. The oldest cork for a wine I have had the pleasure of pulling. Agree mostly with Eric LaVine's comments. Amazingly, still with some fruit and improved with the time in the decanter. Cork removed intact.

ESTG does Piemonte (West Seattle, WA, USA): Cloudy, lots of VA, varnish, rather distinct red color still. It starts with elements of cider and tea and finishes with a lot of sherried notes, but the core has nice cherry notes. Largely pretty shot but worth trying.

Still showing nicely with red fruit dominating and not overly oxidized. Be sure to stand this up for 3+ days before serving as the fine sediment is real.

(Fontanafredda Barolo) Light medium brick red color with clear meniscus; dried cherry and porcini mushroom nose; tasty, elegant, dried cherry, sweet red fruit with sap and good acidity; medium-plus finish

Double decanted 24 hours prior to consumption. A beautiful, fully mature Barolo.
