Brown bag at Prince - Rhone (Prince Sydney, 40 Hansard Street): Served blind. plummy, blackberry, slightly meaty with a peppery underpin, a savoury quality, very slight alcohol warmth reinforces the peppery notes, cream. Savoury black fruit, touch of olive, rocky minerality, black hued fruits, dry woody tannins, long. Nice. Though this was a very good Crozes but more like St Joseph

Random wines tasted during service (Oinoscent): 15 months used oak, 13% The wine shows again a beautiful ruby color. In the nose, its quite similar to Silice, but the fruit is darker with more complexity and depth, again smoky and a bit earthy. In the palate, the wine again shows more depth but also the tannins and acidity are a bit more upfront. The wine is big and juicy, with salivating acidity, nice texture, really fresh but not heavy. It is elegant, with medium body and finish. Would benefit from decanting or some years on its back.
