Two bottles open, one very reductive whereas the other one very representative of the climat and style of the domaine: dark ruby with some garnet reflections, the nose is full of ripe fruits (especially cherry). Mouth very extracted and concentrated with lot of spices but not without freshness. Quite short persistence.

With terrific aromas of forest fruit, sous-bois and a touch of cedar, this is absolutely peak time to be drinking. A touch of very fine tannin, this is stunning, ethereal Pinot Noir. Chapeau!

Toast, butter and strawberry jam. But so good. Fully in drinking window. Beautifully balanced and complex and of delightfully modest weight for a ‘15. Without the layers of a great Morey grand cru. But much better than many Morey grand crus, even from good growers in good years. No hurry at all but no reason to wait. Genuinely delicious.

Decanted 4 hrs. Certainly has the palate density to suggest its a 15, and quite a bit oak spice showing in this early preview. Lovely aromatics, loaded with dark, fragrant fruits and baking spices in spades. Continued on the palate with a deceptive tannic structure that sneaks up on you on the finish. Very good, no regrets opening this last night, but best to hold I think.

Berry preserves on buttered toast, holiday spices, oak moss, cured meats notes. Muted nose, shapely on the palate. Vanilla bean presence, well-balanced. Long, tingly finish. Memorable experience. Still developing, room for improvement.
