  • Showed beautifully last night. Evolved over the course of the evening, showing a complete and well-integrated wine. There were little hints of mineral and fruit here and there but after several hours open this was showing lush brioche cake with sugar along with concentrated white flower aromas of jasmine and honeysuckle. Just a joy to drink and in perfect condition. There were times I would have been okay with a touch more acidity but to drink an aged CC of this quality there's not much room to nitpick

  • This was a rich golden hue with a beautiful subtle nose and a rich delicious palate of apricots and honey. Super balanced and drinking. The cork as a little brittle but this bottle survived. Looking forward to the other 5

  • beautiful wine enjoyed along a CC 1996 from Faiveley. the Bonneau du Martray combined power and purity whereas the Faiveley was power and richness. different styles, both great and ready now

  • Tasted blind, this wine had a medium yellow center and clear rims. The medium intensity nose put forth apple, toffee, and pear with a hint of oxidation.

In the mouth, this wine was medium bodied with excellent acidity and great length. It was overall nicely balanced.

This bottle was a bit funky at first but improved substantially with air. I hope the oxidative note is not representative of other bottles. I don't recall running into that before.

(Bonneau du Martray Corton-Charlemagne) Medium gold. The nose doesn't have the depth of the Roumier but shows a wider horizon of creamy citrus fruit and a faint, high-toned soapy note. The palate, just like the nose doesn't show the depth of the Roumier wine, but there's a wider range of creamy fruit driven flavours - super length too. I like fruit - so I personally prefer this wine - despite it probably not being the 'better wine'. Held up well in the glass - solid as a rock 2 hours later.
