Four (4) years since last visit. Decanted for three (3) hours and benefited greatly from it. Threw off significant sediment. Inviting nose of violet, blackberry, black cherry, bouquet garni, roast meat, smoke, and tobacco. Warm fleshy presence on the palate abundant flavors of black/blue fruits are joined with meaty/herbal elements. Displays incredible depth that winds to long mouth-coating finish. Beautiful. Would not wait any longer. This is squarely in its drinking window.

Been a slow developer but opening up now. Dark red berry nose with spice, anise and resinous notes. Dense, steely, even fractionally green acidity punches through on the palate. Dry, savoury, with a minerally hardness.

Deep ruby. Slightly wild Syrah nose of florals, smoke, light green herbs, and ripe fruit. Full bodied with a round, sappy entry that is full of blackberry and blueberry fruit and spice. The finish shows very good acidity, a twist of citrus, and ripe, gentle, long tannins. Outstanding for the appellation with at least 7-8 more years of potential at a very high level.

(E. Guigal St. Joseph Lieu-Dit St. Joseph Rouge) Dark ruby color; ripe cherry, ripe red berry nose; fresh, ripe cherry, ripe red berry nose; fresh, ripe red berry, cherry, black cherry palate; medium-plus finish (ripest St. Joseph I've ever tasted, I would never have picked it as St. Joseph in a blindtasting) 90+ points

Enjoyable enough but seems to need more time.
