Consumed with rare grass fed steak and stuffed mushrooms. Splash decanted and consumed over a three or four hours. Dense and rich, though savoury, fruit on the nose. Blackberry fruit, a little peppery spice and quite thick on the palate. This is alcoholically warmer than I remember it and was popped in the fridge for 20 minutes to take the edge off. I suspect I've been drinking too much French stuff as this also felt a little clumsy and unwieldy as well.

There is some bottle variability here as this is the 3rd bottle and all have been different experiences. It's a solid mid-range Aussie. Wouldn't mind drinking it again.

Sandalwood, angel share smell in cellars, licorice, sweet port notes with subtle plum on the nose. Tannins are dense and pasty with a lively acidity and a bit fiery feel followed by stewed red fruits with toasted old oak notes at the medium finish. It has good vinificación and structure but the fruit takes on a second role.
Coravin sample. Sandalwood, angel share smell in cellars, licorice, sweet port notes but very little primary fruit on the nose. Tannins are dense and pasty with a lively acidity and a bit fiery feel followed by stewed red fruits with toasted old oak notes at the medium finish. It has good vinificación and structure but it's missing the fruit as protagonist. (91-92)

Bold with lots of dark fruit and spice. Low well structured tannins. Great on the nose and la nice long finish.
