Nose of black fruit and sour gooseberries with fresh herbs, barnyard and spicy oak. Quite unique nose for a Syrah. Nose follows through to the white peppery palate. Quite dry, lean and minerals. Very different from the Shiraz of Australia and France. Also not quite similar to the Shiraz from South Africa. However, it lacks definition at the moment. Tight mid-palate and somewhat deep and racy finish. Fortunately the tannins are ripe and not forward. Need plenty of time in the bottle for the flavors to come together. Less gooseberries aroma and some espresso notes after 3 hours.

Lots of bouquet, clearly Syrah like. Wonderful. Tasted and it is all in its finesse, not one of those "doped" new world Syrah, yet so tasty. Had it with a "rotie de filet d'oie". Great wine to drink with nibles or to have with the main course. Can absolutely recommend.

Smooth in the correct glass, needs 1+ hrs decanting. Would not buy again.
