#BYOB - Big vocal nose, full of browned nutty butter, popcorn and corn on the cob. But there's a stony minerality as well, almost chenin blanc-like, with damp gravel and wet wool.
Full bodied, with massive concentration and a smooth and creamy texture. There's a high piercing acidity, and a dry finish together with slight bitterness. This just kept growing, and growing during the tasting.

(François Raveneau Chablis 1er Cru Montée de Tonnerre) Earthy, sweet butter and mineral nose; silky mouth feel, great sweet butter and lemon palate with minerals; medium-plus finish 95+ pts. (with celery root and prosciutto course at Rubicon)

Short on the palate. Nose was shy. Color was noticeably darker than '98 Butteaux also poured last night. Something wen wrong here.

La Paulée de NY Gala Dinner (Pier 60 - NYC): The nose is filled with mature ripe orchard fruits. Wow, the palate is so fresh and high energy. In a good place now.

Magnifient wine, very traditional, extremely elegant, yet quite opulent. Candied citrusfruit, chalk, big seabreeze component, fur sweat, flint, rainwater... The Works!
