  • Dark ruby fruit - dark cherry with some blackberry and currants. Smooth mid-palate with decent depth/concentration - medium/medium plus body. Nice rich flavors of cassis, some spice/herbs, and a little graphite component. Fairly long finish. Decanted for a couple hours and drank over a couple more. Improved a little with time. One of the better 2014 Napa cabs that I’ve had over the last couple years especially for the price point - although most haven’t aged real well in my opinion. Drank next to a bottle of the 2021 Myriad Rutherford cab to see how they compare since it is also sourced from the McGah Vineyard. I thought the Myriad was better (more depth/concentration) but both were quite enjoyable. A good sign for the 2021 Scarlett cab when it’s eventually released - although they are still selling the 2018 and 2019 vintages. 100% cab.

  • One of my favorite wines from the 2014 vintage. The color is more dark reddish purple color with a lively aromatic nose. On the palate, a little repressed until it gets some air. After a short decant this wine is open for business in a very good way. I side with James Suckling in his assessment of this delightful nectar: Lovely balance and rich but not overly so. There's firm and silky tannins and a fresh and continuous backbone. Medium to full body dominated by black cherry and dark berry fruits and some oak and spice. 94+/ 95 solid points.

  • Excellent wine that is starting to show slightly acidic and not as energetic. It's still a very good wine, but it's 8 years old and from my experience that seem to be the tendency with so many of these Cali Cabs.

  • I love this wine, it shows much better than many of it's 2014 peers, just a solid value. I'm down to my last few bottles wine and I wish I had more. This is great as a pop and pour but give it some air for a fantastic experience. 94+/ 95 Points. 🍇🍷😋

  • Not much to add to the most recent notes. This is in a great spot for current drinking and is unlikely to get better. Drink up and enjoy!
