  • Not as good as the bottle a few weeks ago. A little bit of cork seepage present. It was not spoiled, but I’ve tried this from 3 other bottles with consistent notes at this point. Still very good, just not as good as the other tastings.

  • Cork was in very good condition. Well-aged black fruit on the nose. I had a glass of this at Farmhouse Inn is Sonoma in July 2023 and knew I had to find a bottle or two before it is past its prime. Holding up well, but probably on the way out. Consumed with a dry-aged ribeye. Wine was immediately beginning to loosen up on opening, but had tinges of dull red fruit on the palate. By the time the steaks were ready (1 1/2 hours later w/ sous vide and sear), the wine was beautiful. Food really brought out the dark fruit. Plum, blackberry, and hints of raisin on the palate. Medium finish. Well-balanced, but with an obvious lack of tannin. Drink up. Great buy for $80 on an auction site.

  • Opened this bottle to celebrate a job offer thst my wife got. 1992 is her birth year. At first the smell was too strong for me, but after an hour, it was perfect. Some pepper, red fruits, and cigar box. I eally enjoyed the process of the wine changing as the night went on. 91 pts.

  • One-hour decant through a screened and aerating funnel. Some slight sediment. Aromas of boysenberry during decant. Wine was clear; dark crimson bowl lightening slightly to the rim with a small clear halo. After resting: nose of stewed prunes, cranberry and some greenery, which caused some consternation at the table. In the mouth, no problems: silky-smooth wine showcasing blackberry, plums, some Kobe beef all wrapped in a warm forest floor medley. Balance was still good and the finish long, and again, silky smooth. The nose is, IMHO, a harbinger that it is time to drink up!

  • served around 30 minutes after double-decanting. Lots of sweet fruit like cassis. Ripe and sweet on the palate and kinda rounded. A little smoke with some grilled meats, and oaky. A well-made wine.

(Beringer "Private Reserve" Cabernet Sauvignon) Smells like paint right out of the gates. Ripe cassis and berries after the paint blows off. Tar, leather, cranberries, mocha, fudge, bbq sauce. Very complex nose. Rich and decadent on the palate with really nice complex flavors of dark chocolate, black cherries, plum and really lifting acids. Ripe but not too. Nice mint too on the finish. Long, winding finish that trails off very slowly. Fine grained tannins that are perfectly ripe. Great thrust and buildup on the finish.
