Casual Red Burgundies (La Mangeoire): Savoury and a little bready. Dark with some coffee grinds. Palate is better than the nose suggests but has higher tannin that would be preferable. Good acid and good finish. A little uncertain as to whether to take now or wait out for a few more years...

Dinner at Garibaldi. Deep dark red, very primary in appearance. There was the slightest tinge of tainted cork, but this blew off with some time in the glass. Dark berries, violets, roast meats and smoke on the nose. Palate seemed quite simplistic for a Clos de Beze. None of the austerity and tightness from the 93 vintage. Quite representative of Gevrey, with meats, minerals, earth, and dark fruit but even the Potel seemed to have more complxity than this.

Tasted blind, this had a deep red center with a touch of tawny color at the rim. The medium- intensity nose displayed roses, mocha, and rhubarb.
This was light and refined in the mouth with light, rounded tannin and solid acidity. While it did not have great complexity it had decent length after many hours of air.
This tasted a bit filtered to me (although I have no idea what occurs at the domaine). While it will certainly hold, I wouldn't count on this getting better.

Took an hour to open. Thin at first. Nice with time

nose quite ok - bit somehow harsh and slightly hollow mid palette. Good but not spectacular.
