90's Dujac Grand Cru and 2007 Ramonet: Served blind, the aroma was off to start. I thought it was slightly corked, someone else thought VA. Regardless of this unfortunate aroma, the palate was quite sweet and pretty. Just when we had given up on it ever coming around, it astonishingly did. The unpleasant notes disappeared and it was full of glorious spice -- but it took over 90 minutes to get to that point, and it was dumb luck it didn't all just wind up in the dump bucket. In the end, a great wine, but if this bottle is representative then get ready for a roller coaster ride.

A late entry for WOTY. Perfectly resolved old Burgundy, everything in balance. Not too sweet tertiary fruit, almond sunset tea, mushrooms in the nose Effortlessly elegant on the palate. Finish lingers on long after the glass is drained. Just gorgeous. When you stash away a Grand Cru Burgundy in the cellar you hope it grows up to show like this 25-ish years later.

Dujac (from Jacques) is like NYC pizza....there are only 2 types: great and good. This was in the good category....without any wow factor this glides seamlessly across the palate: ethereal, complex, and friendly. oozing dark cherry goodness, autumnal notes, modest spice, and balancing acidity, I drank a lot more than I planned because I kept wanting that next glass

Unfortunately, the bottle was slightly cork tainted. On the palate, it showed good transperency and sweetness. Very seductive and seamless with lovely sweet red fruit. Lengthy finish. Assume the wine was not tainted, I would give it a 94

Tuesday Burgundy Cellar Visits - Mugneret-Gibourg, Dujac, Château de la Tour, and Fourrier (Cote d'Or): Tasted blind from 375 ml bottle at the domaine. Great nose, firm palate with lots of earth, black truffle, mature/ lean red cherry, all showing lean/ firm vintage character. I thought this was 2001 or 1998 Clos de la Roche.
