  • A beautiful bottle during a Dujac night with friends. We also had the pleasure of tasting 02, 01 and 06 CSD and 99 was a contender but maybe today the 02 was more pleasurable / in the zone and the 01 (en magnum) was a qualitative equal (01 less on the fruit more on the impeccable precision). 99 was still young and lush but certainly about to enter its prime drinking window. The high quality fruit of 99 shines and it's an effortless wine with plenty of torque on the midpalate. Maybe just missing a tiny bit of je ne sais quoi compared to 02 here today but that's quibbling of course. It should prove to be a 50 year wine if well stored no doubt.

  • 90's Dujac Grand Cru and 2007 Ramonet: Funky nose and stewed fruit made this the weakest in a blind flight against 99 CDLR and 98 Bonnes Mares. The palate was full of pretty fruit, though, so all was not lost. And to my surprise the aroma came around after about an hour. I assume this bottle isn't representative of the wine, wondering if it was heat damaged.

  • In a lineup with 00/01 Bonnes Mares, and a 76 Roche, this was my favorite of the bunch. Providing a range of aromatic and flavor notes, Chris called this the most Dujac-y of the group. It’s detailed, expressive, and sensual, while the 99 vintage provides backbone to support that…it feels less frail than CSD usually does. the most feminine wine of the group, it made the BMs appear brawny by comparison

Sweet red and dark berries, herbs, and earth. it’s got excellent definition to frame the sweet fruit, and many years ahead. Could easily improve (96-97)

  • An outstanding example of CSD with spiced red fruits a bit of stems and a medium-light body with great finesse. Seemingly at full maturity. Cellared since original release.

  • Some forest floor development. Plenty of floral spice and a touch of licorice. Complex, with excellent fruit intensity. Excellent cut to the finish and savoury flavours linger. Super wine!

(Dujac Clos St. Denis) This was screaming right out of the bottle..."smell me, smell me, smell me." I obliged. Very expressive nose of dark violets, spice, blueberry, red cherries, some oak and mineral. Really penetrating and high-toned nose but very expansive in the glass. Nose of the night. Palate was concentrated and powerful with a lacey-like haunting texture and beautiful soaking fruit on the finish. Sweet tannins. Could use more time but a blast to drink now. Excellent Burgundy.
