I was impressed with this one. Stylistically Dujac has trended more modern the past 15-20 years, and with the way this vintage has lended itself to “heavy” styled reds (and whites), I was expecting some of that here. Instead this is a well balanced and lifted wine, full of red fruits, florals and spices, and surprisingly light on its feet. I’m looking forward to revisiting this (95-96)

A ripe nose of liqueur cherry and sweet earth. There’s good flesh and fruit intensity. It has a creamy feel and decent freshness from moderate acidity.

Dense ripe cherries, minerals, and stems. Not as intense as some other wines from the vintage, but this is long and balanced and sensual. The flavors cover every inch of the palate and keep going for a while. The stems are ripe and impart a darker and deeper character to the fruit. Fantastic and great to drink already. 96+
The 2018 Clos Saint Denis is a clear step-up from the Aux Combottes and Malconsorts. Sophisticated and fragrant array of ripe stems and floral summer bouquet. Violet, densely packed dark berries and silky wood spices. Incredibly expressive and attractive with a beautiful underlying minerality. Charming and more delicate than the Clos de la Roche. Drink from 2026. (91-93/100)
