EL Birthday Dinner (The Garden Table at Le Pavillon): WOTN? A really complete wine. Great balance. Endless finish. People at the table, who've had this wine recently, noted how great this particular bottle showed. They weren't kidding. The wine is so soft and light but without lightness in color or thinness on the palate. The benefits of whole cluster on full display here. Really delicious.

Ample soft sweet spice and fading red fruit to define the wine. Tannin, acid and overall structure starting to fade. Enjoyable but definitely a drink now.

Parisian Escape; 3/10/2017-3/12/2017: Robust whole cluster bouquet, very stalky with rosy florals. Quite energetic and hugely flavourful. Juicy red cherry on a very textured palate. Had this after an '86 Jayer Nuits Meurgers, which automatically makes this an unusual pairing, but this was unapologetically flashy and striking. Real success with '88s recently. This was a delicious bottle. Definitely want more.

This could rate higher but it was the last wine of the night and overshadowed by the 90
