The other tasting notes give the wrong impression. This is a solid, enjoyable wine. Color is dense and shimmering orange-tinged red. No bricking at the rim. Effusive Nebbiolo bouquet – flowers, red fruit, and tar. The tannins are still pronounced and drying although they by no means outweigh the delicious mouth filling flavors. For me, this does what a Barolo should do – offers a delicious, albeit somewhat unruly, accompaniment to heavy meats and game. Although the level of tannin suggest this will persist I suspect it is in a good place now and ready to drink.

Pretty crimson red with slight tan looking its age. A vibrant nose of rose, cherry, and bark. Firm with plenty of acidity, reasonably long, and nicely nuanced.

Burgs & Barolos (Bronte): light burgundy, tawny rim. some violets and a hint of tar, but also with orange rind. quite soft on the palate, developed character of aged fruits, some sweetness and certainly some firm tannin, but overall impression is a bit on the dull side.

The fruit fell out? Where did it go if was ever there? Wine was out of balance, with some high acid and tannin and was not supported by the fruit or lack thereof. One of the worst Barolo's I have had around this price point.
