Dardi Le Rose Barolo Vertical at 67PM. A bottle to restore faith in the longevity of Dardi Le Rose Barolo. Appearance is clear, medium intensity, garnet colour. Legs. Nose is clean, surprisingly fresh, medium+ intensity, with aromas of fresh earth, stony minerality, red fruits - plums, cherries. Developing. On the palate, dry, good high acidity, medium alcohol, integrated high tannins, full body. Medium+ flavour intensity, with flavours of nicely ripe red plum, red cherries, stony minerality, fresh earth, smooth leather. Long finish. Excellent quality. Super elegant mouth-feel. Solid line from start to middle to finish. Testament to the aged goodness of this plot.

Very tight at first showing a bit of meat and tar but breathed up beautifully. It has plenty of meat and muscle and a core of sweet fruit that intensifies with air. It has good detail and ample structure for further development.

Promising nose with beautiful floral, earthy rustic notes. On the palate, surprisingly primary and featureless. Out of balance, with a little too much alcohol, and some astringent tones to finish. Not sure if this will improve. Not a great value, and performing below expectations.

Cork minimal soak. Decanted 40 minutes prior to serving.
Simply singing at the moment. Has entered a plateau of maturity that should be fine for another 10 years.
Textbook barolo, finesse, power, length. Fine tannins. Sadly, my last bottle.
Lovely.Drink or hold to 2026.

Lovely wine just entering its drinking window. A bit of a lean vintage, but complex and well worth the patience.
Drink or hold to 2022+
