Dardi Le Rose Barolo Vertical at 67PM. Appearance is clear, medium intensity, garnet colour with brown rim. Legs. Nose medium intensity, with aromas of mushrooms, leather, slight meat, hints of licorice, dark plum. Developed. On the palate, dry, medium+ acidity, medium alcohol, integrating high tannins, full body. Medium+ flavour intensity, with flavours of plums + prunes, leather, tertiary earth with mushroom, lots of savoury meat. Medium+ to long finish with dark vegetal feels. Apparently this was the 2nd bottle popped after a first was deemed to be flawed. Perhaps this bottle is a tad advanced? Enjoyable nonetheless in a tertiary fashion.

A charity singleton bought some years ago along with a range of Italians. 3hr decant. Remarkably mature appearance, almost bricking at the edges - and tasted like it. Dusty, Barolo style fruit but lacking any intensity and the Nebbiolo classic bitter aftertaste verging on the acidic in this case. Disappointing for the vintage. OK everyday hooch at best - fortunately only paid $20 (average price) for it. Drink up.

Opened and decanted 3 hours before drinking with a hearty Italian style beef casserole. Nose of pine, leather and a hint of mint. Smooth and silky, slipped down very easily. Good length. Drinking well now, I wouldn't expect it to improve further.

I didn't like ths. Touch of rust at the rim. Not much on the nose, dry tannic wine. I don't get Barolo and never have.
