2010 Barolos at Terra Rossa with NLWTS (Terra Rossa, Upper Street): Mid Ruby. Entirely red fruited (underripe strawberries for me) on the nose; sweet but not confected. Some florality, cinnamon. Tannins obviously significant but feel well integrated. Palate is a bit more restrained,; feels as though there’s more to come. This is lovely; nose particularly so. 93+

2010 Barolo (Terra Rossa, N1): Soapy and darky fruited, immediately appealing in quite a visceral way even if it's not hugely complex or intellectual. There's a sweet fizzy cola note and an exuberance to the dark cherry nose which pulls you in. The palate suggests that the wine needs time: it feels quite clenched, inexpressive with lots of tannic grip.

Dardi Le Rose Barolo Vertical at 67PM. Appearance is clear, pale intensity, ruby colour with wide garnet rim. Legs. Nose tight medium intensity, with grudging swirled aromas of cool earth, minerality, slight vegetals with rot, and then elegant red cherries. Developing. On the palate, dry, softened high acidity, medium alcohol, fine integrating high tannins, full body. Medium+ flavour intensity, with flavours of forest floor vegetation, cool earth, minerality, elegant red cherries, soft red plums. Long finish. Very good quality. Lovely complexity. Feels like it needs another 4-5 years more to open up more especially on the nose.

Pale garnet with wide tawny rim. Pronounced nose of dried cherries, raspberries, tar, rose petal, smoke, mushroom. Developing. Dry, med+ acidity, high, fine tannins, med+ alcohol, med body, med+ finish. Palate similar to the nose. Very good quality. Still developing Barolo that is drinking well but has the structure and fruit to develop for several more years. Tannins still very evident but fine.

Un bon vin qui est malheureusement sur son déclin à mon avis. Il manque un peu de vigueur. Nous sommes sur les notes tertiaires avancées .le nez est encore intéressant.
