Gold in colour, perhaps past its peak and a little oxidized, but broadly enjoyable - agree with previous review, not bad for the bottom of the range Trimbach Riesling (sub $18).

Showing a nice deep yellow gold colour, nice distinctive mature Riesling, notes of petrol, apple, slightly floral, interesting. Medium bodied, pretty crisp with a sweetish midpalate - apple and pear fruit, nice juicy acidity, tasty long finish. Not spectacular, but as an experiment in aging an $18 Riesling this worked out more than favourably

I seem to remember having a Trimbach Riesling of unrecalled vintage in Paris last year and enjoying it. Instead this bottle reminds me of the old Monty Python skit but instead of “Spam”, it’s “acid, acid, acid, acid, acid, fruit, acid and acid”. Fresh nose and the acid cleaned my teeth quite effectively. I’m not kidding, it literally stripped the back of my teeth. Not much else worth saying except this is a disappointment from a very well respected producer. Won’t stop me from trying other Trimbach wines, though. Too many good things said about them.
