Surprisingly pale purple/red fading gently to the rim but no sign of bricking. Decent legs. Gentle, rather indistinctive nose, red fruits, perhaps a hint of pepper. Pleasantly soft on the palate with almost a creamy, raspberryish flavour. Good acidity and a little tannin but unobtrusive. A little length. I can see a little of the comparison with aged Beaujolais. Drink now and for another year or two.

Note from memory. Still primary with lots of grape aroma and a touch of volatile acidity. Good depth and richness, quite fresh, fantastic balance, good acid and light tannin. May improve over the short term but it seems as if it is to be drunk young. Blind I would have guessed good cru Beaujolais. Thoroughly enjoyed and want to try more from this producer. Decanted 1 hour.

Black cherry and chocolate nose. Lighter than expected, but works well with the pot-roast beef. Very good value. Ready now, with a 40 minutes decant. Can certainly be kept another year or two, but I'm not sure whether it will benefit from more. 89-90
