La Paulee, only brief impressions. The substance is impressive, the red fruit core is seductive, however, this was still too young and a bit tight. Time will certainly help the wine to open up more, become more complex, but especially lighter and more airy.

Wow what a pinot full of character and complexity. Nose slightly better than mouth but I am being critical here. It kept changing during the evening and after 3 hours is started developing a scent of blood orange which I like allot in pinots. On its plateau for another 5-6 years probably.

Jim's Retirement Party (Libertyville, IL): From magnum. A very successful combination of red and black fruit with elegant textures, subtle spice and engaging balance. Whole cluster contributes lots here without dominating. I haven't had this wine since 2013, and it lives up to my very high expectations from just after release.

Nose of red fruit full of freshness and brambles complemented by a touch of spice A few notes of undergrowth will complete the picture with aeration.
Very pure mouth, with a silky touch but all in freshness. It's still very basic flavor level on blueberry among others, we find the rusticity of NSG (nothing pejorative there). I was surprised by an acidity which I found high, but which does not endanger the good balance of the wine since these elements are well integrated and the juice remains dense. If the texture is pleasant, I find a slight lack of depth. Beautiful finale woody and spicy finish with earthy notes. Good length.
A very good NSG

During the La Paulée in Zurich, so no detailed tasting notes. From MAG. This was very good, deep aromatics of underbrush, red fruit.
