  • This immediately smells as if it came from a rock quarry rather than any kind of fruit. Beneath there's a core of incredibly fresh, bright citrus and pear fruit accented by herbal and floral notes that emerge with time in the decanter, but each sip seems to start and finish with a vivid stony character. It's very young, but so precise and impeccably balanced, and an absolutely compelling wine to sit down with and follow.

  • Refreshing nose of white florals, green apple to pear, citrus and stonedust, perhaps chalk as well.
Dry, light and refreshingly dry. Some RS and a bit of oiliness give it a tad richer feel. Chalky earthiness and pronounced lemon character. Minerally aftertaste showing some almondy roundness and some saline. Long and refreshing.
Though light and dry, the wine had certain elegantly concentrated quality about it. Comes from what might be the oldest surviving vineyard in France - planted in 1850 before phylloxera. Wicked!
