MWS Wine Tasting and Dinner (Restaurant De Burgemeester *, Linschoten, Netherlands): From vines planted in 1850, allegedly the oldest vineyard in France. Deep colour, full yellow with a golden touch; volatile nose, hint of glue, nuttiness, apple; apple flavours, remarkably fresh and mineral, has retained its structure and grip; good length.

A Night of Romorantin (Brooklynguy's place): didn't entirely outclass the group, and that's probably because it was past its prime drinking window. still, i thought that the layers of mineral and fruit were clean and impressive, and there ws a nutty depth that i enjoyed.

Bastille Day at Chateauneuf-du-Joe's. (Dougherty's): Yes, that's right. Romorantin from pre-phylloxera vines. The back label says they were planted in 1850. Unfortunately, this bottle was not as it should be and showed clear indications of premox as exhibited by the blue/green tip of the cork, which is starting to become an indicator, as well as the advanced color and flavor profile. It's too nutty and lifeless and that's not a good thing, or as it should be. NR.

What a shame. Way downhill from where it was just a few years ago.
