Rich fruit but supple wine with really good balance and long finish. Dark ruby and translucent wine. Sweet upon entry and picks up complexity through a long balanced finish. Cassis dominates with notes of pencil shavings and a little char with a touch of creaminess. Nose is fragrant and same notes. Held up well but did not improve over two days.
From memory (no notes taken at time). Dark ruby color. No sign of sediment. Nose of dark fruit, pencil shavings, and a lovely menthol background that I mistook for a more earthy/herbal scent on the first glass. Flavors deliver the same. Full bodied with medium+ fine tannins. Nicely balanced and well delivered. 91pts.
