2003 Eisele Vineyard Araujo Cabernet. This was my first experience with any Araujo wines, so I didn't really know what to expect, but I can say I was neither elated nor disappointed as I had very little bias going in. The nose was a bright and red fruit dominated with a really well integrated sweet oak. The palate was very similar with a wealth of silky fruit and just a taste of spice. My main issue with this wine was the slightly out of balance tannin that really held this wine back from being truly exceptional. I was assured by the person who I was drinking with who had tasted this before that it seemed to be some bottle variation, and the tannins weren't usually that high. All in all, I would definitely try it again. 95+

Slow ox'd the wine a couple hours. On initial pour it was ready to go! The wine had a more feminine style, with more red than dark fruits. great acidity to carry the wine across the palate finishing with some cedar notes and a hint of dusty earth. No over ripeness here and absolute peaking. Should hold for a number of years but why wait?! Enjoy!

(Araujo Estate Cabernet Sauvignon) Inky garnet fading to magenta. Jammy nose of plum, black cherry, blackberry, violets, baking spices, and mint chocolate. The voluptuous mouthfeel, with still-supple tannins, persists on the finish. A treat to drink right now. Terroir: Eisele Vineyard

Slow ox 3 hours. Dark fruit cassis, some chocolate. Tannins not obtrusive. Perferred the Staglin 2003 opened next to it by a hair

Very enjoyable, more restrained and secondary than a lot of Napa cabs I have been drinking.
