Inky blood red Nose of coffee grounds, blackberries and a bit of camphor. As it opened up, more earth and floral notes emerged but then dissipated leaving a cedar and leather core. Silky mouthfeel full of blue fruits, earth, tobacco and some dark chocolate. The finish went on for a couple of minutes. A real pleasure.
we are drinking this now because Cellar Tracker suggested its was at its end of life. We think it would go one or two more years. Lovely, smooth, beautiful hints of cinnamon, black current. Lighter than we thought, considering its reputation as a big cab. Sheerness.
What a wonderful nose on this old wine. We get lots of aged fruit and in the mouth you get spice, cassis, anise, and dust that lasts for some time. The tannins, while fully integrated, they still make their presence made. Wish I had more.
