Decanted 5 hours before drinking. Dark burnt orange hue, nose of graphite, little eucalyptus/green pepper. Cherry, mellow graphite, Bordeaux style, little tannic/acidic, soft, smooth, easy to drink. Fantastic wine-- still time on this bottle. Drank last bottle nearly 4 years ago and it rocked then. Absolute winner of a wine. ;( wish I had more!
Decanted for 5 hours. Slight bricking color. Bordeaux-like with slight pencil shaving and slight herbal, bell pepper notes. At times a little tobacco on the nose. Mixed tart red and darker fruit. Just a little very fine tannin and quite a bit of acid keep the wine fresh and surprisingly youthful. No need to hurry with these. My favorite of the night.
Upon release, I purchased a case of 750's and one magnum. Last night was the magnum's night with a group of friends. Before going I double decanted the wine which had a moderate amount of sediment. In a hurry, I never tasted the wine and when we drank the wine I picked up the TCA. My nose is particularly sensitive to corked wines. My friends loved the wine, but maybe they were just being polite. From the magnum, the wine was dark in color and still packed with fruit. It probably should not be opened for five more years. I'd rated my 750's as high as 98 before.
