Light red - shy nose. Light bodied, far from dilute but closed at the moment - hefty but smooth tannins that creep up on you. This wine does not currently have the charm of youth or the complexity of age - leave in the cellar for a couple more years before trying the next bottle.
Mine. Poor recent CT notes made me nervous about this bottle, but it was in fact outstanding. Both nebbiolo-ish and Burgundian, vivid flavors, long finish. Drinks perfectly on opening, and further cellaring should yield even more benefits.
Two very consistent bottles and we are not sure if this is a batch issue or the wine is starting to dry out. Definitely not as impressive as 2 years ago (papies 92) and in generally felt as if the life has gone out the wine and the fruit has lost its vitality. Not a poor wine or difficult just not joyful vs what we remember. Given the pedigree here it should (in not a bad batch) have aged better. 89-90
