I quite enjoyed this wine this time around. My memory of the first bottle was a more harsh acid front end and some harshness on the finish. This time things seemed more integrated with the wine smoothing out. The acid and fruit became one, and the harshness has disappeared. The nerello mascalese has made a renewed fan, and I find that some additional bottle time can really help this grape. The wine complemented the food on the second night, but I will admit it had trouble working with the spicy Chinese food tried on the first night.
Ljusröd färg, som lingondricka. Intensivt rödfruktig (körsbär, lingon) i näsan med lite brända toner och örter. Mindre än medelfyllig kropp i munnen, med röd frukt, örter, och en hel del mineraler. Elegant och tajt med superfrisk syra och fortfarande vitala tanniner som ger stadga och struktur. Håller länge än! Till lammfärsbiffar med siciliansk parmigiana di zucchine (zucchini, tomatsås, kokta ägg, mozzarella, parmesan, basilika och mynta). Mycket gott!
