Really a wonderful bottle and I’m sad it’s our last. Showing a little age in its color but fully alive in the mouth. Just a faint expression of sweetness at this stage, a tiny drizzle of honey on the yellow pear fruit. Great length. Yum.

Holy bottle variation, Batman. This bottle was amazing. Cork pulled like it was 3 months old and the wine was just cranking from the very start. Reminiscent of a Huet with more generosity and curve to it. Almond, apple, pear, wool, and the indispensable mineral and acid all in balance and firing on all cylinders. Stunning, stunning stuff for the price.
This bottle makes me wish I had kept buying Chidaine. Unfortunately, the risk/reward calculus on these wines just doesn't hold up (see Chidaine 2014).

Similar to my notes taken 2.5 years ago: Aromas and flavors of pear, apple, apricot, citrus, ginger and minerals. Great structure. Intense and layered fruit. A viscous texture in the mouth.

A note from the second night: I can't quite decide what I think about this bottle. There's some decent fruit, touches of complexity, bit of minerality, but overall it's just not particularly interesting.

Based on the CT data on this wine, there are about 100 bottles in cellars. And if I judge the bottle I had last night, I would say that if you own this wine to please consider drinking it. It has become distinctly bronzy in color, and at just 8 years old it seems far darker than I would expect. I did find some acidity in the bottle, a bit of a heavier texture with flavors of apple and stone fruit. I'm simply telling all of you, especially those of you that have multiple bottles remaining, is to challenge my TN and see if you believe my assessment here. Last night was my only bottle of this and if I owned more, I'd be chilling down the rest of them and drinking them in the next 6 months.
