Opened at Farmhouse Evanston pre shift. Past its prime. This was stored properly but it is on its last leg. Medium light rustic aromas of funky, dirty raspberry, smoke and meat just covered in barnyard and a touch of green pepper. The palate is much more earthy and shows touches of dark cherry and dark chocolate on the back end. Not the tastiest wine but intriguing to sample from this classic vintage which doesn't seem to hold up as well as some believed it would.

Cork came out in one piece. Tasted flat for five minutes then opened up nicely. Earthy fruits. Last glass and still not bad...

Unfortunately this was over the hill - potable, but barely. Thin, anemic, and tart, the fruit was barely present. Sad.

Rich, complex, robust and full bodied. Smokey, dark fruit. But drink fast -- flattened out by the end of dinner.
