Fantastic showing for this wine. Opened four hours in advance for small taste. Decanted just before serving blind to guest, nex to Allemand Cornas Chaillot 2011. Surprisingly young with deep red color. The nose was primary fruit, both red and black. Notes of garriques and black peber coming around. Floral and then the meaty backbone. Came together in the glass and the fruit was really precise and clean. Still fine potential, if I had more I would keep until 2027 before next bottle.

Dark red hue. Leather on the nose - bordering on funk - more tertiary notes than I expected. Sweet dark fruit on the palate - fresher than the nose. Full of delicious complex black fruit flavors, the fullness of which is the trade off for the wine lacking a little in delicacy and finesse. Black olives. Not so much pepper or spice. Acid in fair degree but seems to lack a little tannic grip in the early going. There is balance but not compelling length. A wine for food. Fairly represents perhaps all you can hope for in a Crozes. Very good. Ready but will keep and change still over many years. Bought on release. Next Day - Earthier, more tapenade, less leathery funk, less weighty.

Smooth and rich - still a young wine. Olives here galore, dark fruit, tar, smoked meat. Perfect harmony, drinking very well.

A little closed at the moment. Thin wine but typically Crozes. That nice Syrah sour freshness... mmmm
