A: Deep garnet N: Medium (+) intensity and I thought that was generous [instr. says pronounced]. Redcurrant, black plum, pencil shavings, tomato leaf in the primaries.. Some chocolate in the secondaries and tertiaries represented by wet leaf and mushrooms. P: Dry, med (+) acid, high ripe tannins, medium alcohol (14%), full body, med (+) intensity and finish. Quality and Ageing: Nice balance between the structural elements here with the acid balancing the full body nicely, Had the body not had the acid balance, the wine would feel too flabby. The length and intensity lend good quality support and the complexity of five clusters represented over primary, secondary and tertiary flavour categories commune to make this wine outstanding quality. The presence of tertiaries show that the wine is able to age. The primary fruit which is still present and secondary elements from oak may go on to produce further flavour characteristics lifted and protected by the presence of sound acidity and tannins.

At Qatar lounge. Better than the recent 2011 Monbousquet but again not a great right banker in this difficult vintage. Dark garnet with translucent rim, wood spices and oak, round fruit but lacking a bit depth and concentration, medium (-) tannins. Short to medium finish. Not bad, hold for another year or two for the tannins to soften

Dekantert. Nydelig nese og munn fra første glass. Vagt rå. Ung. Stadig litt rå dag 2. Tre siste glass meget pene.

Flight home (Qatar Business class): Plum, fennel, blackcurrant, crushed rock, leather, cedar, quite tight tannins, long…kind of nice

Dark in colour, purple. A bit shy on the nose, a bit introvert but good structure, firm and round tannins. 88-90
