Great refined Super Tuscan: elegance, power & balance: Blackberries, plum, clove, black currant, balsamic note, leather, graphite, soft vanilla, medium to full body, superb long aftertaste, at peak for another year or 2.

A blend of Cabernet Sauvignon, Petit Verdot, Merlot und Syrah. Nose: Cold bone fire, burnt soil, dark berries. Mouth: Consistent with the nose. Some coconut, too. Full bodied wine with a lot of grip from the tannins but they are ripe. Very good for sure but it doesn't wow me hence not in the 90 range. Considering that it has "just" 14% alc. it can be felt a tad too much.

Friday Night Double Blind Tasting $60+ (Bin 75): Dense dark core with dull maroon rim; reductive, meaty, tar, vegetal, floral, dark fruit, anise; soft tannin at first and then it clamps down, chalky, dense, meaty, fine tannin but some bitterness, some alcohol; a little harsh from the pnp; needs time; called '09 St. Emilion; 90+.

Really opened up with some air. Modern styled with a nice fruit in the foreground and a ripe tannic grip
In the back.

Smoky, toasty oak nose. Soya sauce. Lots of spicy fruit, green olive and toasted nuts. Very long and powerful.
