Old World Blind Tasting >$25 (Bin 75): Dark see through ruby; rose, structure, sour red cherry, meaty, a little shy on the nose; densely packed fruit on the palate, ripe strawberry, pure red cherry, tannic, not dissimilar to Nebbiolo; I called NSG; could use 5 years.

- Purple color and aromas of blackberry, cloves, dusty and moldy. It's somewhat balanced and has flavours of chocolate, cherry, fig and strawberry jam with a medium body. Smooth texture with a medium finish.

Friday Night Double Blind Tasting $40+ (Bin 75): Dull ruby to rim; cranberry, candied plum, richer and substantial nose, cassis; rich palate, tannic, floral, slightly hard, minerals galore; tasty, did PnP so not sure what extended airtime would do but I'd like to see 2-3 years of bottle age; a fairly serious Bourgogne.

Light body. Simple. Tart cherry, strawberry, smooth tannins, a touch acidic. Good with food. Could use a bit more time in bottle.
