Needs at least an hour to decant. Wonderful earthy nose but the alcohol is starting to take over. Much of the berry flavor is gone on the palate but it is still very enjoyable.

Attractive and typical Turley raspberry nose but on the palate, little remaining fruit so quickly gives way to heat; finish is not short but with an off-tasting note to it.

Tasted blind. Med + to deep ruby, with med + legs. Med + intensity nose, with ripe black cherry, dried herbs, black pepper, baking spices. Elegant, beautiful oak treatment. Dry, with lots of ripe and baked fruit. Med acid and tannins. Med + to high alcohol. Full body, med + intensity and length. Good to very good quality wine, which would benefit from just a little more acidity. It is developed and ready for drinking, although I guessed it was 5 instead of 10 years old. New World, moderate to warm climate. Lack of pyrazines narrows things down. Possible varieties include Syrah blend, Zinfandel. I guessed Australian Syrah blend.
