Xavier and Jonty’s notes still hold. A fully mature wine, the imperfections made this bottle more enjoyable. The rough edges have come off and everything is integrated, but it clear drinking this that it was a rough vintage.
This was served after a modern, very polished, everything controlled to perfection new world bottle. The MS.E harkened back to old days when things didn’t always go to plan and not everything could be fixed in the cellar. And while the flaws were in full view, it went down quite easy. Drink up.

Not great: a thin sourpuss, not saved by the vegetative lingering

Disappointing. Tannins too harsh, even after decanting a few hours. Not sure it will get better with time too. Just too many flaws in this one.

A private tasting (The Hague): A bit scraggy, light and vegetal, old-fashioned, somehow atttractive anyway.
