  • The wine is clear and bright with a deep ruby colour and slightly inky legs. The nose is clean and developing, with medium intensity aromas of black currants, sour cherries, tomato, liquorice, anise and hints of black pepper and game. It's dry in the mouth with a medium- somewhat flabby acidity, medium rounded tannins, medium+ alcohol, medium body and medium intensity flavours of dark cherries, black currants, liquorice, black pepper and hints of blue flowers. Medium finish. Good quality wine, it does not show a great amount of complexity but the length and fruit concentration are reasonable, and whilst it lacks some acidity that would have made it fresher and easier to drink the balance is not bad. Not bad, but maybe overpriced. Drink now, it will not develop further complexity, but has enough tannic structure to be kept another 1-2 years before it starts to decline.

  • Unusual nose - could almost pass for Armagnac but there's some black pepper too. Palate is overripe with prune and stewed plums but there's decent lift to the finish. Ok, but I don't think I could manage more than a glass.

  • Red fruit, red licorice. Bright and tangy aromas. No oak.
