Decanted for an hour. Wine was well balanced and had some dark cherry up front. Low 12.5% alcohol a nice change from more recent wines. Approaching or at maturity so would get more for the table not the cellar.

Half bottle. Blackcurrant and cassis dominant, ripe and deep nose. Weighty and with good development on the palate, long and well-rounded. Very enjoyable given the price, good structure and lots of ripe fruit.

Very nice bottle. Not as much fruit as I maybe expected, though an average year. Nice nose, dark fruits, touch of cassis and a hint of cocoa powder there too Similar on the palate with some green wood coming through and in the (medium length) finish. Balanced acidity and tannins (two things I've found a little out of whack in the 02's on occaison). Matched a big joint of roast beef pretty well. Opened up with a couple of hours in the glass. Nice.

A very good 2002. Fine tannins and plenty of fruit. Frankly I was extremely surprised by the quality. Much better than my 2002 Rauzan Segla and. Dry good value.

From half bottle. Closed at first but after 30 minutes in the glass it started revealing some relatively complex tertiary aromas. Lean and a bit green on the palate though. Grippy tannins and high acidity. Worked quite well with food, but not really on its own. This will probably not improve much, but on the other hand I think it will keep for several more years.
