  Really well stored since 1986. Perfect fill. Color pretty much mid life. That said, my experience with 1983's - had many from my cellar and elsewhere - is some really beautifully extracted pure pinot fruit that at some point gives way to a hard tannin hammer. Very much like 1976. The problem with this wine is you get really really little of the beautifully extracted pinot part, and much much more of the the tannic hammer part.
