Did some background reading. The Langhe bottling of the Arborina vineyard is a pet project and encapsulates Altare’s spirit more so than the Barolo version. Both the Langhe and Barolo are harvested and vinified the same way initially, but the Langhe sees 100% new oak like Burgundy whereas the Barolo only sees 20% new.
Agree with a previous comment that this resembled a softer version of Bordeaux with prominent but not overbearing oak use on the nose, which was well-integrated without protruding vanilla notes. Sweet red berries on the palate, excellent detail and precision for the warm vintage. Seductive texture and made in an unabashedly modern style, but worked for me in this case.

Acid minus but fairly generous and fruit forward for Langhe. Overall, balanced and pleasant. Works well with tomato sause based and fatty food. A juicy spaghetti with lots of white truffle oil worked great with it.

Drank over two nights. Similar to the bottle I had last year. Very nice wine with a nose of rose petals and red fruit. The palate was cherry, strawberry, rose petals and a hint of spice leading to a moderately long finish.

Better than the bottle I had 5 months ago. Opened 2.5 hours prior to dinner and let it slow ox. Very nice wine with a nose of rose petals and red fruit. The palate was dark cherry, strawberry, currants and rose petals along with a hint of spice leading to a moderately long finish.
