Not the best showing of the 93 MM Echezeaux VV, probably due to provenance. The nose was a touch more plummy than it should, but the palate still showed the vintage ripeness and density.

Double decanted for sediment. Bacon and black olives on the nose along with some red cherry and hint of thyme. Faint fruit on the palate initially. With air, it picked up a bit of sweetness but doesn't improve much. A pleasant but somewhat uninspiring drink.

A Vosne-Romanée Night: Decent depth to the fruit, intriguing nose, some forest floor and dark berries; in the moth: more dark berries, some tannin in the finish, tight, but lacks complexity. The tertiary aromas get more pronounced after a while and it becomes weaker in the glass.

Dark and red fruit complimented with spice and brown sugar. Good acidity and sweetness on the palate. Drinking very well now. 92+

Red/dark fruits with some secondary notes on the nose . Good structure with excellent acidity typical of the vintage.
