Dark red fruit with garrigue and mild spice notes come together nicely here. Great nose, texture and depth. At age nine, this wine is in a great place. Good juice.

Tasting notes: Appearance: clear, medium intensity, ruby color, thick and lightly ruby-tinted legs. Nose: clean, medium intensity, raspberry, dark red cherry, spicy, game, white pepper, red licorice, cinnamon, clove. The wine is fully developed, on the palate it was dry, medium acidity, medium (-) tannin, medium (+) alcohol, medium (+) body, pronounced flavor intensity. Long finish. Quality: very good, drink now not suitable for further aging.

I've now had 3 bottles. Previous comments hold. Frankly, this is simply overly-extracted - jammy, to be blunt. It's well made and certainly some/many will like this approach, but it's a Patz and Hall outlier. Not for me, finally.

Drank same night as the Gap's Crown. This is just a little over the top for me. Not quite as big and juicy as a cab, but lashings of oak and a strawberry/raspberry palate bury the aromas that I'm looking for. Leaves behind a little impression of sweetness. I'd favor something a little less ripe and a little tenser.
