  • Peppery, big-framed, rich, delicious, though a little astringent and one-dimensional, and it's priced on par with, say, le Clos Guillot, of which it falls far short. I do like this wine, though, and consider it worth trying for cab franc fans.

  • Soft tannin, fresh fruit, really nice blueberry, definitely Cab Franc.

  • A little translucent dark cherry red color. Balanced and pretty ripe nose with aromas of ripe plums, sweet kirsch, some grassy and slightly herbaceous vegetal notes, an oaky overtone of sweet chocolate and cocoa. With some air, hints of peppercorns and cooked bell pepper emerge. On the palate the wine feels quite full-bodied and moderately soft with ripe flavors of dark plummy fruit, sweet red fruit and some herbaceous vegetal notes with sweet oaky backdrop of milk chocolate and a touch of vanilla. Despite its soft mouthfeel the wine has pretty good strucrture, due to somewhat noticeable tannins and moderately firm tannins. The finish is ripe, fruit-forward and medium in length. There are flavors of juicy dark fruits, some herbal notes and a little sweet oak spice. The tannins feel a bit more pronounced, making the aftertaste end on a slightly bitter note.

A decent red wine we have here, but for a Cab Franc lover this really doesn't hit the spot. The wine feels a bit too ripe and slightly too heavy on the use of oak. This wine doesn't feel that much Italian, but instead more international and anonymous in style. The nose showed more Cab Franc typicity than the rich palate, where the sweet ripe fruit and a bit too excessive oak overwhelmed the finer nuances. This is an easily-approachable modern red with pretty little sense of place.
