  Strong but well balanced acidity. Somewhat more new world on the nose but a very compelling wine. Ready to go now. Overall: 92

  Très grand Volnay à maturité. Nez intense et ultra complexe mêlant épices douces, rose, petits fruits rouges et noirs, humus et une note minérale. Bouche aux tanins bien fondus et gras, fraîcheur et longueur, tout y est ! Probablement à son sommet, je ne tarderais pas plus de 3 ans avant d'en profiter.

  Another lovely bottle of this, certainly no rush; 2 years or so since the last; this still has very nice red berry fruit, hints of pepper likely from some stems, very floral and has developed more spice notes; still with earthy/stony notes underlying. The palate continues to develop well with good depth and concentration. Lovely finish with some spice and bright red fruits. Good stuff and good value if you can still find it for sub $100

Is a good Volany though seems to lack Taillepieds stuffing and drive. In transcribing my notebook here, I really think now we just have classically shut down adolescent Burg.
