Still yellow greenish. Assertively varietal aromatics, but not too pungent and also floral. Medium weight, very stony. Lime and grapefruit with a hint of vanilla. Fresh and vivacious, and the wood influence is in the background. Excellent.

Medium yellow. Grassy nose with a touch of something more exotic than the usual Sancerre citrus-perhaps papaya? Chalky richness, a hint of wood, sound acidity, and very good length. I'd have to say that this was very good but hardly exciting and definitely not worth the lofty price.

Color is medium+, with chalky, flinty aromas on the nose. On the palate there is a slight touch of oxydation "à la" Krug...in a positive way. Acidity is not to high - medium+ and the finish is medium. Good wine to have with food. But overly expensive at over $70!

Year 2 - Super Tasting 5 of 5 - Greg does Loire (Greg's House - Kitchener, ON): Tasted Blind This was a bit subdued, restrained and even a bit dusty. Neutral oak ageing and some time on the lees? Aromas of lemon, lime, melon, soil and minerals. The palate was quite round with flinty and smokey aspects augmented by flavours of melon, citrus, minerals, flowers and a whiff of rubber/reduction. Finish is long and smokey with chalk, and lean citrus flavours.

Year 2 - Super Tasting 5 of 5 - Greg does the Loire (Greg's House): (Taste Blind, Sancere #3). As noted, this was remarkably similar to #1. Turned out it was the same producer. We went back and forth about which wine we preferred. The group preferred #1 by a hair, but they were neck and neck. The nose is of wet wool, melon, pear, green leaves, kiwi, smoke, dry soil and custard. The palate is also a bit more round, similar to #1 with a slight brown spice and custard note on the finish. Very pretty wine.
